Clearing the Sync cache on your desktop can free up space by removing temporary files used by the Sync app. Files in the cache can be safely removed as follows:
- Click the Sync icon in your Windows system tray or Mac menu bar.
- Click the Settings cog (⚙︎).
- Click Preferences.
- Under the Network tab, click Clear Now under the Disk Cache section.
Note: You can also adjust the cache retention setting. By default, cached files are stored for 30 days to help improve performance by reducing the need to re-download frequently accessed content. However, if you're low on storage or working with large files, we recommend setting the cache duration to a shorter period (such as 1–5 days). This helps clear temporary space more quickly and can improve system performance in storage-constrained environments.
