Why am I getting a 303 cannot invite user error?

This error occurs when you try to share a folder with an existing Sync user that is set up in a different data region than your account.

Why this happens:

Some Sync users are set up on a distinct data region that is not compatible with your team shared folders. In these cases, to maintain data integrity, sharing to these users is not supported.

What you can do:

  1. Share the folder with a link
  2. Use a different email
    • Ask the recipient for another email not linked to a Sync account, then send the folder invite to that address.
  3. Add as a sub-user
    • If you’re on a Teams plan, add the user as a sub-user. They may need to delete their existing account first.
