When you install the Sync desktop app, two things are added to your computer:
- The Sync icon in your Windows taskbar or Mac menu bar
- The Sync folder in Windows File Explorer or Mac Finder
If you don't see the Sync icon or can't find the Sync folder, it may mean the Sync desktop application is not running or not installed.
How to find the Sync folder on Windows:
If Sync is installed, you can access your Sync folder by:
- Clicking the Sync icon on the Windows taskbar.
- Click the Sync folder icon.
If you're not seeing the Sync icon in your Windows taskbar, proceed to the next step to ensure the desktop application is installed on your computer.
How to check if Sync is installed and running on Windows:

Press the Windows key.

Type Sync in the search bar to locate the app.

If it shows up, it’s installed.
- Click the app to run it and follow these instructions to access the Sync folder and app preferences.
- If the app is already running when you click the app, it will open the Sync folder.
- If the app does not show up in the search bar, it means it is not installed. Proceed with installing the app.

If Sync is installed, you can access your Sync folder by:
- Click the Sync icon on the Mac menubar.
- Click the Sync folder icon.

Press Command (⌘) + Space to open Spotlight Search.

How to enable Sync to run on start:
Once you've located the the Sync Desktop Application, ensure that it opens automatically when when you start your computer, as follows:
- Click the Sync icon in the Windows taskbar or Mac menubar.
- Select Settings (⚙︎).
- Select Preferences.
- Under the Options tab, check the box next to Run When Computer is Started.
