False Surfshark Warning

We are aware of a false warning being displayed by Surfshark, indicating that Sync.com has been involved in a data breach. This information is not accurate. There has been no such data breach at Sync.com.

What’s going on?

Surfshark offers a data breach monitoring feature that scans public databases for leaked credentials. Unfortunately, they are currently flagging Sync.com as compromised based on incorrect or misattributed data. This is a false positive and not reflective of any issue with the security or integrity of your Sync account.

What should you do?

We recommend that you:

  • Contact Surfshark support and let them know about this false positive.
  • Provide a screenshot of the warning.
  • Let them know that Sync.com has confirmed there is no breach.

Additionally, avoid reusing passwords across different services. While Sync.com has not been breached, using unique, strong passwords is a security best practice that helps keep all your online accounts secure.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us. We take your privacy and security seriously.
