Error #8102: This email is already in use

Error 8102 appears when you try to invite a user to your Sync Pro Teams account using an email address that is already associated with another Sync account. This can happen if:

  • The user you’re trying to invite already has a personal Sync account.

  • The user was previously removed from your team but their account was not fully deleted.

  • The email address is still associated with a shared folder outside your team.


How to fix this:

To resolve this issue, follow the steps below:

  1. Check if the email already has a Sync account.
    Ask the user to sign in at https://cp.sync.com. If they can sign in successfully, the email is already registered. In this case, you can add them as an existing user to your team.

  2. Have the user close their existing account (if needed)
    If the user no longer needs their standalone account and should only be part of your team, they can close their current account.

  3. Reinvite the user
    Once the account has been released or closed, try adding the user again from your Users & roles page in the web panel.
