Why am I being prompted to update my password?

To keep your Sync account secure, all users are required to use strong passwords. If you’re seeing a prompt to update your password, it means your current password doesn’t meet our latest security standards.

Sync never has access to your password. Password strength is checked locally on your device, and updating your password is a fully secure, client-side process.

FAQs

Can I bypass the prompt?

No. For your security, you’ll need to update your password before you can continue using the Sync web panel.

I didn’t receive the email. What now?

  • Check your spam/junk folder.

  • Make sure you’re checking the email address associated with your Sync account.

  • Retry signing in to send a new email.

What if I forgot my old password?

If you don’t remember your current password, follow the standard Forgot password? flow on the sign-in page to reset it. Once you create a new strong password, you’ll be able to continue.

Tip: You can also check your password manager or browser’s saved passwords to see if your previous Sync password is stored there.
