If you see the error “8019 The link password is incorrect,” it means the shared link you’re trying to open is protected with a password, and the password entered does not match the one set by the link owner.
How to fix this:
1. Double-check the password you entered
Make sure the password was entered exactly as it was provided to you. Passwords may be case-sensitive, and extra spaces copied before or after the password can also cause this error.
2. Contact the link owner
If the password still does not work, contact the link owner directly. They are the person who created the shared link and set its password. They can confirm the correct password, change it, or remove it if needed. Sync’s shared link password feature is managed by the link owner in the web panel.
3. Ask the link owner to review the link settings
If needed, the link owner can sign in to the Sync web panel, open the link’s settings, and update or remove the password from there. For step-by-step instructions on adding, changing, or removing a shared link password, see Add passwords to shared links.
