How to access Sync from Dolphin on Linux

Sync WebDAV can be connected directly to Dolphin, the default file manager for KDE Plasma.

This lets you access and manage your Sync files without mounting a separate drive.

KDE's file-management layer supports WebDAV directly, and WebDAV locations can be accessed from Dolphin's Network section.

Before you begin, you'll need:

• A Sync account with WebDAV Early Access enabled. Join the early access program.
• Install and start the Sync WebDAV server on your Linux computer. Follow these step-by-step instructions.

Connect to Sync

1. Open Dolphin.
2. Select Network from the sidebar.
3. Enter the following in the location bar: webdav://127.0.0.1:4918/
4. Press Enter.

Your Sync files should appear in Dolphin. To make the connection easier to find later, right-click the location and choose Add to Places.

Alternative: Add Network Folder

You can also use KDE's Network Folder wizard:

1. Open Network in Dolphin.
2. Choose Add Network Folder.
3. Select WebDAV.
4. Enter:
   Name: Sync
   Server: 127.0.0.1
   Port: 4918
   Folder: /
5. Save and connect.

Troubleshooting

Files cannot connect

• Confirm that Sync WebDAV is running.

Files disappear after restarting Linux

• The Dolphin connection depends on the Sync WebDAV server. Restart Sync WebDAV before reconnecting.

Remotely added files are not visible

• Reload or refresh the Dolphin window.
