Error: #1639

Error 1639 indicates a problem installing the Sync desktop app on Windows. This is usually related to Windows permissions or how the app was installed previously.

To resolve this issue, follow the steps below:

  1. Confirm you’re using a Windows administrator account.

  2. Complete a full uninstall of Sync using the uninstaller tool.

  3. Reinstall Sync and run the installer as administrator.

    • Download the latest Sync desktop app for Windows:
    • Right-click the installer file and select Run as administrator.
    • Follow the on-screen steps to complete the installation.

Once these steps are complete, Sync should install without the 1639 error.
